I have been seeing Dr. Shimer for about 3 years now and love her and her staff. They are all very friendly and I feel like they truly care about you as an individual as opposed to just another patient. I was recently pregnant and being that it was my first I was naturally a little nervous and had a ton of questions. They always put me at ease and never hesitated to answer my questions no matter how many I had. They also have a portal where you can send messages with any questions or concerns. Absolutely love the staff and Shimer - they’ve been so incredibly helpful throughout our pregnancy and postpartum... from answering urgent questions to silly asks via the patient portal. 8/10 times I get their voicemail but they always give me a call back. Our baby boy was delivered with ease and I can’t imagine another doc to do it. Also, she’s fantastic as a gyno. I’ve always had issues finding a doctor that didn’t make me dread going into the office for my annual or any issues.. she listens to all my concerns (both in pregnancy and outside of) and will advocate for my agenda before pharmaceuticals. A close friend of mine recommended Dr. Shimer to me. I started seeing her last year when I found out I was pregnant with my first Baby. Dr. Shimer and her staff were AMAZING. They are all so friendly and caring. They remember you every time you come in and treat you like family. Dr. Shimer was great through my whole labor and delivery and made me feel calm and comfortable. I was very nervous and she was so supportive. She also has an app that you can message her through and get reminders on appointments. This is my first year with Dr. Shimer. I absolutely am happy that I decided to use her as my high risk obgyn. After losing my daughter last year prematurely, it was overwhelming to find a doctor I felt would be sensitive to my history, fears, and concerns. And Dr. Shimer is it. She has gone over and beyond to make sure that me and my baby I’m currently pregnant with see the finish line. Her entire nursing and office staff is amazing. It really feels like family. Throughout my pregnancy she was amazing! Her and everyone on her office helped quieten all my fears and answered all my questions throughout the process without making me feel silly. My daughter & I love Dr. Shimer & her staff. Everyone is very welcoming & professional. I love the fact that all paperwork/check-in is done via an iPad, no more clipboards with tons of paperwork to fill out. Very convenient!! Dr.Shimer is AMAZING! She was my OBGYN/prenatal care with my first born and was so helpful and truly understood my fear of the unknown I had as a first time mom! She was always happy to answer my questions...no matter how silly they may have been. Due to an insurance change, I wasn't able to see her when I had my next baby but we we're lucky enough to have her as the doctor on call when I had my 2nd! Dr. Shimer is great! As well as Twyla her assistant. They make you feel very comfortable and at ease, someone you can trust and put your body in their hands. my wait time was very minimal. It very understandable for doctors not to run on time but i felt like there was no wait. I would reccomend Dr. Shimer to any woman as I know at least 3 other women who go to her as well. The front desk team was also great, they greet you with a smile and are very attentive. More

Excellent staff .They were friendly and really helpful.I just switched to another insurance plan and my health ID cards didn't come out yet and they got me on the system. I was really happy with Dr.Tricia.She eased up all my pain and misery that I was going through this past year. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for a good Gynecologist. More
Dr. Shimer is an knowledgeable doctor that possesses a great bedside manner, in my opinion. When I was sent to the ER after my son was born due to a DVT she even came to visit me more than once and brought supplies over for my little guy. She has been wonderful doctor and I highly recommend her. The only negative is that it is difficult to get someone on the phone but she has begun to implement a patient portal so I am sure that will aid in giving people faster assistance regarding questions, appointments and test results. I’m pregnant with my first child and read all the amazing reviews on here so I thought I’d give her a shot. First of all, I could not find her to save my life. I called and figured out its the Presbyterian Hospital in the Perot building on the Lower Level (in case any future patient has the trouble I did). I was super stressed from it. All that doesn’t matter. She’s absolutely wonderful. She’s nice, thorough, informative, and answered all my questions with patience. Her staff is just as helpful. I feel very relieved and lucky she will be my doctor through this. They gave me a whole bag of different prenatal samples and a folder with all the information I can handle. There is no way anyone can possibly have a bad experience here. More

Dr. Shimer is GREAT! I moved to Texas about five years ago with a history of endometriosis and other issues. I was finished having my children and was in so much discomfort. I met with another OBGYN in this area and was not happy with her recommendation. I met with Dr. Shimer and we went over all my options. She never forced me into anything and she explained very clearly what was happening to my body. I called her one day in horrible pain, she sent me straight to the ER. She even called to make sure I was ok. I met again with her and we scheduled a hysterectomy, which I knew I needed. The surgery went perfect, no problems, I even went home the next day. Dr. Shimer gave me back my life, I feel 100% better. I see her once a year and I have spoke to her at my appointments about very personal issues. She is very understanding and takes the time to educate me on my questions. If you are looking for a GREAT doctor I highly recommend her. I have given birth to three children, all different doctors do to moving, and I can honestly say Dr. Shimer is the best so far. More

Don’t get me wrong, I liked my GYNO. She worked toward finding a solution to my problems the best she could and to the extent that I was willing/able to participate. But when Dr. Shimer stepped in and took over, I literally felt like a sunbeam shone through to the bottom of my dark hole.Basically, my only option was to have a hysterectomy and Dr. Shimer took me through the process like the experienced professional that she is. My life is so improved because of her that I really can’t believe I suffered as long as I did. She’s also my cheerleader for any tiny change that I make toward making myself a healthier person. She never judges my bad habits or my less than svelte physique, she only celebrates my accomplishments toward better health.The one thing that bugs me about doctors and waiting times unfortunately applies to Dr. Shimer. But know that once you get into an exam room, Dr. Shimer will give you every bit of attention that she gives every patient.
