What is an O-Shot?

Also known as the orgasm shot, the O-Shot is a minimally invasive procedure that improves vaginal health and raises libido with the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. Using nutrient-rich plasma from your blood, PRP stimulates the production of new collagen in order to increase the sensitivity of vaginal tissue. Provided for women of all ages, the O-Shot allows for a number of benefits, such as improved lubrication, sensation, and tightness. Our skilled team at Evolve Med Spa is proud to offer O-Shot treatments to help improve women's sexual health and treat certain functional vaginal issues. IS THE O-SHOT Treatment FOR ME?

An optimal treatment option for women who want to increase vaginal tightness, lubrication, and clitoral sensitivity, your O-Shot treatment will be customized to meet your specific needs. During your initial consultation, a member of our experienced team will talk with you about your needs and goals, discuss your medical history, and decide if the O-Shot is a good option for you. The number of sessions needed may vary from patient to patient, and our team will work with you on when to schedule your follow-up appointments. The O-Shot treatment is not an ideal option for you if you are currently breastfeeding, pregnant, or you have an infection or history of infection.

HOW IS THE O-SHOT Performed?

Your O-Shot treatment will be performed in one of our private, comfortable treatment rooms. To begin the procedure, a member of our team will draw a small amount of blood from your arm. In most cases, about four tablespoons worth is taken, or enough to fill a small vial. Next, the vial is put into a centrifuge machine in order to separate the plasma and growth factors from the remainder of the blood. The plasma will then be placed in a thin needle and injected into the clitoris and upper vagina. In order to decrease any discomfort throughout your procedure, we will use a local anesthetic on the treatment area. After your treatment, you can return to your normal daily activities and no downtime is required.

RESULTS AFTER THE O-SHOT

Following your O-Shot treatment, you may notice some slight tenderness around the injection site. Since the O-Shot is a minimally invasive procedure, no downtime is needed. Typically, the majority of patients can return to their daily routine. Patients do not have to avoid sexual activities following their O-Shot injections. In order to preserve your results, you could require an additional injection around eight weeks following the initial appointment. For the best possible results, most patients schedule a series of injections throughout the year.

O-Shot FAQ

Is the O-Shot covered by insurance?
Unfortunately, at the current time, the O-Shot is not covered by insurance. Therefore, all expenses will have to be paid out of pocket. However, we can work with patients regarding financing and payment plans to ensure everyone receives the care they deserve.

Is the O-Shot painful?
While it may sound painful, the O-Shot is generally described as only mild discomfort. This is due, in large part, to the fact that we use a numbing cream on the injection sites to reduce feeling in the area. Most patients notice only a light pinch or warm sensation during the injections.

Can the O-Shot treat incontinence?
Yes. In addition to treating sexual dysfunction, the O-Shot can also improve urinary incontinence and overactive bladder. This makes it a great treatment not only for women hoping for an enhancement in their sex lives but also for those who may have trouble controlling their bladder due to pregnancy, age, or any number of factors.

How long do results from an O-Shot last?
Results vary based on patient and treatment plans, but recipients of O-Shot injections usually report results that last longer than a year. Women may potentially experience sexual enhancement that lasts up to three years.

Is the O-Shot safe?
Yes, the O-Shot is safe for the vast majority of women. Because this treatment uses your own plasma, it is generally very safe with little to no risk for complications. During your consultation, we will review your medical history and talk to you about your current health to ensure that this treatment is ideal for your goals.

How often should I schedule the O-Shot?

Typically, people undergo 3 – 5 sessions of the O-Shot to achieve their desired outcomes. During your first visit to Evolve Med Spa, the team will advise you on the expected results and how many sessions may be beneficial for you. Additional treatments can be provided to maintain your improvements.
